126. Using removeAllSelections command to deselect every selected item from the multi-selection box

We have to use Selenium RC command removeAllSelections  to deselect all the selected list options in Multi-selection box field.

Test Description:

In order deselect all the selected list options using Selenium RC command removeAllSelections, first lets select all the options using Selenium RC command addSelection multiple times and then remove all the selections using removeAllSelections command . We've to use removeAllSelections command as shown below:

selenium.removeAllSelections("css path for locating the multi selection box field");

Lets Implement the Test on Eclipse IDE:

Pre-requisites:

1. Create a new Project say 'RC-Project42' in Eclipse IDE
2. Configure the Project to work with Selenium RC
3. Configure the Selenium Standalone Server to run from Eclipse IDE
4. Create a package say 'package42' under the newly created project.
5. Create a Java Class file say 'Class42' under the newly created package as shown below:

Actual Steps:

1. Write the following code into the newly created Java Class file as shown below and make sure that you resolve all the errors before going to next step:

2. Write the test method 'selectListItemsFromMultiSelectBoxField()' which uses CSS Path Statement for locating the multi-select box field  as shown below:

3. Now lets write another test method 'removeAllListOptionSelections()' as shown below, which deselects all the list options that are selected by the statements provided in the previous test method:

4. Start the Selenium Standalone Server
5. Save and Run the 'Class42.java' file by selecting the 'JUnit Test' option and ensure that our Automation Test has deselected all the list options that are selected in the multi-select box field as shown in the below video:
